Building effective partnerships and possessing strong partnership skills is essential to success as a retail dietitian. Strategic partnerships in the retailer's key markets provide opportunities to enhance the company's health and wellness brand and reputation. Internal partnerships extend the scope of the retail RDs work, and build a healthy living message across the store format. This module can help the retail RDN be more successful in his/her role by creating a total store wellness solution through partnerships with internal departments including produce, center store and pharmacy. The opportunity to extend the retailer’s health and wellness reach by building alliances with community partners will be discussed and the concept of a density strategy introduced through a case study example. Focus of the module is on skills and process for developing effective partnerships. Measurement of the return-on-investment (ROI) for initiatives and communicating partnerships benefits to store leadership will be addressed.
