The Academy has a proud history of advocating for food and nutrition programs included in the nation's farm bills. Efforts to increase access to food and support for nutrition education have been the cornerstones of the Academy's recent and historical farm bill stances. Some critics have suggested that the implications of policies within the Agriculture titles require an equal level of consideration. This session will explore the link between Agriculture policy on health outcomes including those related to crop subsidies, sustainability and climate change. Policy considerations for future farm bills will be described by the expert panelists.
