In July, the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General released a Management Alert that outlined problems found with the conditions at Customs and Border Protection detention facilities along the Southern border and called for immediate action to address the conditions. This interactive discussion will feature immigration and child health policy experts who will provide deep insights into current conditions at these facilities, discuss the potential nutritional and health impacts on children of these policies, and explain the policy solutions currently being considered by advocates, Congress, and the administration.
