High-intensity interval training (HIIT) has ranked among the top fitness trends worldwide for the past five years. Practitioners are faced with conflicting information regarding the potential for the method to improve body composition and overall fitness and health. This presentation will discuss the physiological basis of HIIT, and review the scientific evidence regarding the effect of different intermittent exercise training protocols on body composition, fitness and health.
