Globalization of dietetics in the 21st century brings many opportunities for RDNs and nutrition and dietetics students. Faculty from the Department of Nutrition Sciences at Drexel University in Philadelphia have taken advantage of these opportunities. Assistant Clinical Professor Beth Leonberg taught nutrition to nurses and doctors and exposed healthcare professionals to the role of the dietitian in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 2018 as a Fulbright Scholar. Assistant Clinical Professor Nyree Dardarian and Drexel University nutrition students participated in running the athlete's village dining hall and worked with student athletes at the World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea (2015), Taipei, Taiwan (2017) and Naples, Italy (2019). Their experiences serve as examples of opportunities available to other experienced food and nutrition professionals to share their knowledge and expertise globally.
