Registered dietitian nutritionists play an important role in helping to translate federal dietary guidance into nutrition education for the public. With the upcoming release of the 2020 Dietary Guidelines and changes to the Nutrition Facts panel, these professionals will help develop communication strategies and apply new nutrition science to federal nutrition assistance programs. In this session, hear from RDNs working in three different areas of the federal government about roles they play in providing nutrition education at the national level. Gain insight from their stories of the paths they took to their current roles and the skills that have proven most useful in their current work. Explore current nutrition education efforts underway in the federal government and preview new materials available for RDNs to use in providing nutrition education.
