Adam Kuchnia, RD, MS, PhD will describe innovative muscle composition and quality analytic techniques that may be associated with clinical outcomes in transplant and surgical patients, as well as the response of imaging-based biomarkers to medical nutrition, physical, and occupational therapy. Isabella Colassanti RDN, LD will discuss medical nutrition therapy interventions targeted at lean body mass preservation in pre- and post-transplant phases. Finally, Tiffany Johnson, OTR, MOT, C/NDT will explore where features of organ failure and signs of frailty overlap and how the clinical can enhance quality of life through therapeutic interventions in pre-habilitation, prior to major surgery, and rehabilitation following major surgery.
