People move through a series of stages when changing behavior. Clearly identifying the stage of change for each desired behavior and utilizing specific coaching techniques to empower clients to move through each stage of change so that they accomplish their goals and vision is a key element of coaching. Since RDNs work with clients in a variety of settings, understanding how to use coaching techniques and skills in these different settings and situations is crucial to our practice.
