The field of nutritional genomics continues to develop rapidly, with a growing impact on the delivery of personalized nutrition care and the role of the RDN as expert in personalized nutrition recommendations. This session will provide a brief review of the research findings in the Academy's Evidence Analysis Center's nutrigenomics project and will expand upon the research published since the Evidence Analysis Library project was completed.

The speakers will describe how to navigate through the nutrigenomics landscape by discussing the best available evidence supporting nutrigenomics in clinical practice and the limitations of that evidence. Speakers will also discuss the current nutrigenomics environment: direct to consumer versus practitioner-based nutrigenetic tests, the need for implementing nutritional genomics in the classroom, and resources for professional development.
