Join a registered dietitian nutritionist and a certified wound care nurse as they discuss an evidence-based nutrition approach to wound healing in the hospital setting. The session will include review of common types of wounds among hospitalized patients, the roles of team members in managing wounds, and discussion specific to the current evidence regarding macronutrients and micronutrients for wound healing (protein, fluid, calories, zinc, vitamin C, and amino acids). Nutrition claims for wound healing that are not supported by the evidence will also be addressed.
