An essential part of our food system is agriculture and food production. As experts, dietitians are frequently asked about food production as it relates to health, nutrition and safety. With a Q-and-A format, this interactive discussion with RDN farmers will allow attendees to engage in a peer-to-peer discussion of the most complex issues in agriculture as well as cover the most common questions from consumers.

Nothing will be held back for the nutrition professional who wants to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges farmers face on a daily basis, including water use, soil quality, yields, planting, harvesting, crop rotation, tilling, genetically modified seed selection, pesticide use, animal care and even the use of medication in food animals. Attendees will leave the session with the tools to help their clients and patients make informed decisions about complex and often confusing agriculture issues and the relationship between agriculture and health, nutrition and safety.
