The use of enteral nutrition support has increased considerably over the past 25 years. Traditionally, these patients are prescribed commercially available, premixed tube feeding formulas. However, a growing number of patients use blenderized tube feeding to partially or completely meet their nutrition needs. This session will examine the use of blenderized tube feeding among nutrition support patients. Data describing the prevalence, safety, tolerability, and clinical effectiveness of blenderized tube feeding in the inpatient and outpatient setting will be presented.
