With new models of healthcare being structured to support value-driven delivery and payment systems, RDNs must know how to make the business case for incorporating their services into practice. This session will review key concepts of various alternative healthcare delivery and payment models and how they measure value and influence payment; and describe how savvy business planning helps one become a successful player in these models. Speakers will examine the revenue generating and cost savings portions of the RDN value equation and explain how to make a business case for RDNs by conducting a value analysis and calculating worth in terms of dollars. Types of data to look for, where to look for it and who can help you find it in various practice settings will also be identified.
