The Aquaculture and Seafood Tech 101 session will cover a range of topics on seafood health and safety from water to table. Seafood products from wild caught and aquaculture sources will be reviewed from the following perspectives: nutrition, benefits and risks, food safety, quality and handling, harvest and production methods, processing, HACCP, sourcing, distribution and marketing, media communications and future outlook. Seafood Health Facts (seafoodhealthfacts.org), a website managed and hosted by Delaware Sea Grant with other partner institutions, will also be discussed as a useful resource for consumer education.
