Despite the number of food insecure Americans, food waste in the United States has reached staggering levels. This session takes a farm to fork approach in exploring critical points of food waste throughout the food chain and their associated costs. Participants will also learn about recent efforts by the Academy and Foundation, including developing resources, research projects, and legislative efforts. Finally, participants will learn how the Academy is partnering with other organizations to reduce food waste locally and globally, and what practitioners can do to get involved in this movement.
