Increasing the diversity and cultural competency of the dietetics workforce is critical. Learn the results of the recent Dietetics Practice Based Research Network/Member Interest Group (MIG) survey that identified barriers and supportive factors for students of diverse backgrounds during Didactic Programs in Dietetics and internship application and completion. A dietetics educator will discuss how supportive factors can be put in place and barriers removed in dietetics education programs and propose initiatives for MIGs and other Academy units to implement to increase the diversity of dietetics students and professionals.
