Transgender individuals may undergo substantial medical intervention during transition, including hormone therapy and surgical reassignment. What are the diet- and nutrition-related effects of these interventions? What are the psychosocial concerns that may impact eating behaviors based on our current literature? How do we apply the Nutrition Care Process to transgender patients and clients? This session will explore these questions through the lens of a case study of a transgender male. Participants will be encouraged to share their experiences as food and nutrition professions caring for transgender individuals.
