Millennial students thrive in technology-infused environments. Educators require tools to help students maintain attention, meet demands, and improve retention through active learning. Innovative technologies – such as apps, eBooks, social media, and web-based timelines – give students new, interactive ways to stay engaged. It is vital that educators provide varied experiences that enhance the ability of future practitioners to communicate nutrition information to the general public in an effective, expert manner.
In this session, we will discuss our experiences using innovative techniques to enhance our didactic program and internship, including integration of ANDHII. We will share feedback of students, educators, preceptors, and community partners, as well as implementation strategies for face-to-face and online environments. We will demonstrate social media "backchanneling" and encourage its use throughout the session to enrich your conference experience through active learning.
