Research experiences during undergraduate and graduate education have the potential to equip students with critical inquiry, research design, and interpretive skills. This session will evaluate keys to successful integration of a research-focused service learning project into a graduate-level community nutrition course. In addition, the two speakers will share experiences as mentors in an NIH-funded framework for engaging and retaining underrepresented students in biomedical research.
