This leadership session effectively combines the clinical nutrition component and the management aspect of dietetics. The presenters will discuss their strategies for implementing a practical comprehensive malnutrition program within their acute-care hospital settings.
As we know, malnutrition is an under-documented diagnosis that contributes to increased length of stay and readmissions, as well as increased cost of health service. Using evidence-based practice applications for malnutrition screening and nutrition focused physical exams, a successful platform will assist with improved quality of care, better patient outcomes, and increased reimbursement.
A fundamental element to implementing a plan is efficient project management. Identifying key stakeholders is an essential part of the process and creating a multidisciplinary team that will work in concert to promote patient quality outcomes is critical.
