It is within the RDN's scope of practice to provide information on physical activity. But how far can you go before crossing the line? When should you refer to an exercise professional and how do you understand the myriad credentials to pick the best professional? How can you learn more to confidently provide this information and frame it within client's goals? A recent survey conducted by the Academy, IFIC and ACSM shows that RDNs are not confident working to the full extent of their scope of practice in providing physical activity advice.

This session will share data from this survey and answer the questions raised above. Speakers will identify resources for RDNs to understand their full scope of practice and/or obtain additional training in providing physical activity guidance. Speakers will provide practical tips on knowing when you might be crossing the line, and how to locate and collaborate with a trusted exercise professional for the best outcomes for your clients.
