This module in the "Make Yourself At Home" Emerging Healthcare Delivery Models curriculum discusses the framework for emerging healthcare delivery models, such as the Triple Aim and provisions in the Affordable Care Act; describes emerging healthcare delivery models, such as the Patient-Centered Medical Home and the Comprehensive Primary Care initiative; and outlines new payment structures utilized by these models, such as value-based payments and per-member-per-month payments.
Also included are the implications and opportunities for registered dietitian nutritionists in these emerging healthcare delivery models.
The intent of the modules is to provide flexibility for the dietetics educator; the content of the modules can be used in their entirety, or educators can pick and choose content that is most relevant for their students/interns and dietetics education program.
