This presentation will help the RD distinguish between the appropriate and inappropriate candidates for the Low-FODMAP diet, and alternative options for those who are not appropriate candidates. It will instruct on how to screen for eating disorders, maladaptive eating behaviors and contain an overview of the different types of eating disorders. This presentation will give a brief overview of the low-FODMAP diet and the FODMAP Gentle diet. Participants will be able to choose when to use the Low-FODMAP diet, FODMAP Gentle, or a research-based alternative (multiple options will be shared) for those whom the Low-FODMAP diet would be deemed inappropriate.

Beth Rosen, MS, RD, CDN

Beth Rosen is the owner of Goodness Gracious Living Nutrition in Southbury, CT, and has been working in the field of nutrition for over 20 years. In that time, she has helped her clients find relief from digestive disorders such as Irritable Bowel Disease (IBS) and Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), Gastroparesis and Colitis. She is a non-diet Registered Dietitian, and as such, she focuses on empowering her clients to mend their relationship with food and their bodies and to feel better in the skin they are in by relieving symptoms of digestive disorders. She has also designed techniques and programs to empower chronic dieters, disordered eaters and those in recovery to mend their relationship with food and their bodies. Her goal is to end the pain of diet culture, one client at a time. She has written for major online and print publications, such as Huffington Post and FabUPlus Magazine, and created nutrition programming for individuals, professionals, and community groups.
