This session explores the current research on and potential benefits of prebiotics, probiotics, and adaptogens in supporting an athlete's stress levels and immune health. Kelly will cover practical strategies to aid athletes and active clients in incorporating more of these compounds into their fueling pattern despite busy, demanding schedules.

Kelly R. Jones MS, RD, CSSD, LDN

Kelly Jones is a board certified specialist in sports dietetics and owner of Kelly Jones Nutrition, a media and nutrition communications consulting company as well as a private practice. Residing in greater Philadelphia, Kelly began her career with nearly a decade as an associate professor of nutrition and exercise physiology, while building her sports nutrition business.

As a nationally recognized nutrition expert, Kelly is featured in outlets such as Runner's World, Men's Health, Well + Good, US News and World Report, Insider and more. She regularly appears on broadcast television, often representing brands to showcase the ease of incorporating nutrient dense, plant based foods into a busy lifestyle. Kelly has created nutrition and medical fitness programs for nationally recognized fitness clubs, and works with athletes at every level. She has experience consulting with organizations such as the MLB, the Philadelphia Phillies, USA Swimming and New York Road Runners, and enjoys speaking at conferences.

As a former Division-swimmer, a business owner and busy mom, Kelly relates to her audience's need for practical tools that support physical performance and healthy living. With a plant-forward approach, her website and social media offer resources, tips, recipes, and self-paced courses to shift anyone's eating pattern to optimally fuel their body and mind. This spring, Kelly is launching Student Athlete Nutrition, a resource site and services that help make practical and evidence based performance nutrition information more accessible to the average student athlete.
