This webinar focuses on the spectrum of advocacy engagement within the profession of dietetics. We will focus on how to become more engaged in the process, the levels of engagement, the roles dietitians can play in advocating for legislation, and upcoming initiatives.

Hannah E. Martin, MPH, RDN
Hannah is a registered dietitian and the Director of Legislative and Government Affairs and he works out of the Academy's Policy Initiatives and Advocacy office in DC. Her primary areas of focus are health care and health systems and her work involves federal advocacy, writing regulatory comments, helping to develop Academy policy, and representing the Academy in a wide array of advocacy coalitions including the Eating Disorder Coalition and the Diabetes Advocacy Alliance. She works in close consultation with the Academy's Legislative and Public Policy Committee, DPG PALs, affiliate PPCs, and other policy leaders. Prior to joining the Academy, Hannah was a senior policy analyst at the bipartisan policy center where her work focused on federal public health and nutrition policy. She also served on the board of the DC affiliate for 5 years, with terms as PPC and Affiliate President.
Margaret E. Dahl, MS, RD, LD
Margaret is a performance dietitian at Texas A&M University. While balancing several teams needs operationally and clinically, she is also the Policy and Advocacy Liaison (PAL) for the Behavioral Health Nutrition DPG. In her time as PAL, Margaret has had to learn the world of advocacy and policy and navigate its intricacies.
