While the number of options of apps can be overwhelming, this webinar will help attendees narrow them down to find apps that are appropriate based on individual medical needs, health literacy levels and user comfort level.

  2. Discuss 3 functions/features of diabetes interfacing apps and how they improve daily diabetes self-care management.

Susan G Weiner, MS, RDN, CDE, FAADE

Susan Weiner is the owner and clinical director of Susan Weiner Nutrition, PLLC. She has been elected to serve as a Director, on the American Association of Diabetes Educators Board of Directors, 2018-2020. Susan was named the 2015 AADE Diabetes Educator of the Year and is an AADE fellow. She is the recipient of the 2018 Media Excellence Award from the New York State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Jennifer C. Smith, RD, LD, CDE

Jennifer Smith is the Director of Lifestyle and Nutrition. She has had extensive education in the intensive management of clients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. She is a writer and editor of the Think Like a Pancreas Blog. She is a contributor and has contributed to many publications including the JuiceBox Podcast Pro-Tip Series Educator with Scott Benner and Diabetic Living Magazine Fall 2019: "Are Carbs the Enemy?". Volunteer/Mentor and Personal Accomplishments include co-authoring - Pregnancy with Type 1 Diabetes: Your Month-to-Month guide to Blood sugar management and completing the Disney Marathon in Orlando, 2014 and 2018.
