While nutrition is the cornerstone of diabetes management, the field does not reflect those disproportionately impacted by the disease. This webinar series aims to fill the gap by partnering with the National Organization of Blacks in Dietetics and Nutrition (NOBIDAN) to underline the need for diverse professionals in nutrition and dietetics. Diabetes care and education is a specialty area that warrants attention, especially since Black communities continue to have a higher prevalence of diabetes, greater disease-related burden, and higher rates of complications compared to whites.

Kimberley Rose-Francis, RDN, CDE, CNSC, LD
Kim Rose is a Florida based registered dietitian nutritionist who specializes in diabetes and health & wellness concerns for underserved populations. With close to a decade of professional experience Kim spends her time counseling clients in her private practice. Her inclusive approach and philosophy revolve around "making nutrition easy and attainable". Kim does this by addressing common and complex food and wellness topics for the general public and health professionals alike on her YouTube channel and contributing to multiple media outlets including Healthline, HuffPost, Kitchn and Health Magazine just to name a few.
Kamaria Mason, MS, MPH, RD, LDN
Kamaria Mason is a Registered Dietitian passionate about reducing health disparities among child and minority populations through community and faith-based interventions. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan with a focus on Women's studies and has a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University. In 2015, Kamaria completed the Coordinated Masters of Public Health Nutrition and Dietetics program from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Since 2016, Kamaria has worked with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services through the North Carolina Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities as a Public Health Consultant to spearhead a statewide initiative, the North Carolina Minority Diabetes Prevention Program (NC MDPP). To date, NC MDPP Regional Collaboratives have screened over 20,000 residents for prediabetes, enrolled over 3300 residents in a 12-month Lifestyle Change Class series dedicated to educating and empowering North Carolinians to adopt healthy eating behaviors and while increasing physical activity.
She currently works with Durham County Health Department as the Adolescent Nutritionist for the Durham Innovative Nutrition Education (DINE) program, where she facilitates skill-building workshops that teach basic cooking skills while incorporating healthy eating behaviors for middle-school students in Durham Public Schools (DPS) that have at least 50 percent of students participating in the free and reduced lunch program. Kamaria is a Registered Dietitian who advocates for healthy eating and chronic disease prevention at all stages of life.
Cordialis Msora-Kasago, MA, RD
Cordialis Msora-Kasago is a Regional Nutrition Manager for Sodexo Healthcare and the Founder of The African Pot Nutrition, a nutrition consultancy that improves the health of people of African descent through diet and lifestyle changes. An advocate for heritage foods and healthy cultural practices, Cordialis specializes in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease and culturally-informed nutrition education.
Cordialis is a National Media Spokesperson for The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a contributing nutrition expert for a wide variety of media and magazines including The Africa Channel, Naturally Zimbabwean, Radiant Health Magazine and Food & Nutrition Magazine. She is a graduate of the California State University, Los Angeles' Nutritional Sciences program and holds a Master's of Arts in African Area Studies with an emphasis on Public Health.
