As more families seek to adopt plant-based eating patterns, many are wondering if this way of eating can meet all the nutritional needs of a child. Nutrition from a variety of food sources is essential to a child's growth, neurocognitive, and psychomotor development, making a nutrient-rich diet paramount. In this presentation attendees will learn about the current research around the health benefits of incorporating animal foods, such as dairy, into a child’s plant-based eating pattern. They will also learn about practical ways to encourage children to adopt an eating pattern that includes a wide variety of foods including those that are plant-based and dairy-based.
