Registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) who are also IBCLCs are key in supporting families to meet their breastfeeding goals and ensuring that the World Health Organization's Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding are met. In this webinar, participants will learn about Baby-Friendly USA's evidence-based Guidelines and Evaluation Criteria, which focus on safety, equity, communication and competence and result in improved maternity care. Discover how the Baby-Friendly designation leads to the equitable provision of care, reduces breastfeeding disparities, and increases exclusive breastfeeding across all race ethnicities and socioeconomic levels. Speakers discuss the important role that hospital-based interdisciplinary teams—including RDNs—play in achieving successful Baby-Friendly designation. In both community and clinical nutrition settings, RDNs can help ensure that facilities meet the Baby-Friendly designation requirements.
