With the increasing use of blenderized tube feedings (BTF) in a variety of care settings, a need existed to develop best-practice and evidence-based practice recommendations to provide guidance for nutrition professionals and patients. Members of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition identified salient questions concerning BTF.

Through their literature search and consensus, developed practice recommendations pertaining to the use of BTF, formula options, and home and hospital considerations. This session will highlight general recommendations for use of BTF, key aspects of formula preparation and important pediatric specific considerations.
