The Diabetes Certificate of Training is a five-module course which reviews the foundations and goals of nutrition management for diabetes care, acute care, diabetes in pregnancy, prediabetes, and medications. This course provides a comprehensive review of nutrition management of diabetes care in a variety of settings and various patient populations.

Learning Objectives
- Identify medical nutrition therapy goals and evidenced-based nutrition recommendations for management of type 1, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes and prediabetes.
- Describe how to choose the most appropriate diet orders, merge multiple diets and recommend appropriate supplements and formulas related to diabetes in acute care.
- Explain screening guidelines and diagnosis criteria for type 1, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes and prediabetes
- Apply medical nutrition therapy (MNT) recommendations based on various diabetes pharmacotherapy treatment regimens (oral medications, non-insulin injectables and insulins).
