Inclusive care creates spaces where all individuals feel safe and valued. Using an interdisciplinary lens, this issue addresses the complexities surrounding inequality at different levels of health care. It covers topics such as advancing health equity, food insecurity, disparities in diabetes medications, weight stigma, culturally appropriate messaging, diversity in dietetics, and equitable healthcare for LGBTQ+ individuals. RDNs in diabetes care and education are positioned to provide patient-centered care and should strive to assess patients for social determinants of health and familiarize themselves with tools and resources to best assist patients.

Learning Objectives
- Recognize the importance of culturally competent communication to reduce health disparities.
