Learning Objectives

• The learner will be able to recognize the confounding factors of bowel dysfunction in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and provide appropriate interventions based on a patient-individualized approach.
• The learner will be able to understand the use of the Endoscopic Ultrasound(EUS)-Directed Transgastric with Lumen Apposing Metal Stents (EDGE-LAMS) procedure with bile reinfusion to increase intestinal absorption and promote weight gain in malnourished, post-transplant patients with a history of Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB).
• The learner will be able to apply knowledge of immunonutrition and typical immunonutrients to evidence-based clinical practice using existing research, societal guidelines, and a fundamental understanding of benefits and potential risks.
