This presentation delves into the prevalence and impact of weight stigma on physical and mental health, and body image and satisfaction. Participants will explore body neutrality as a potential care goal to work toward with clients, utilizing a weight-neutral approach. Research will be reviewed to assess the viability of a weight-neutral approach in achieving body neutrality. Counseling techniques will also be presented for practical application in guiding clients towards body neutrality. The session aims to equip dietitians with a comprehensive understanding and practical tools for addressing the prevalence of disordered eating behaviors and body dissatisfaction among their clients.
