This webinar was presented live on April 17, 2020.
The purpose of this webinar is to learn from 3 Academy RD/RDN members with disabilities as they share their stories and answer the following questions:
- What is the nature of your disability, were you born with it or was it acquired, and how does it affect you?
- What do you do for work and what accommodations do you use?
- In what year did you become a RD/RDN, and why did you choose the profession of nutrition and dietetics?
- What is an example of your success as a RD/RDN?
- What can RD/RDNs with disabilities provide to the profession that RD/RDNs without disabilities cannot?
- What suggestions can you offer to RD/RDNs without disabilities to help them interact and work with RD/RDNs with disabilities?
- How has being an Academy member benefited your career?
- What suggestions do you have for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to increase the number of RD/RDNs with disabilities?
The webinar will be close-captioned.
