Brought to you by the Center for Lifelong Learning with a special thank you to the content writers and presenters, Theresa A. Kuracina, MS, RD, CDE, LN and Andrew S. Narva, MD, FACP. Planned with the National Kidney Disease Education Program (NKDEP), an initiative of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases of the National Institutes of Health.
This module covers certain complications seen in CKD. The risk for anemia, hyperkalemia, metabolic acidosis and mineral and bone disorders increases as the estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) decreases. We will follow a patient, Joseph, as his CKD complications impact his life and journey towards kidney failure. You will use the National Kidney Disease Education Program's Your Kidney Test Results as we describe these complications.
