Brought to you by the Center for Lifelong Learning with a special thank you to the content developer, Kerri Knippen, MPH, RDN, LD, BC-ADM. Planned with The Diabetes DPG.

The RDN plays a vital role in education, coaching and making care plan recommendations to the health care team. In this module you will learn about gestational diabetes risk factors, screening guidelines and potential complications. The role of the RDN will be explored from diagnosis to delivery. The use of the nutrition care process in development and implementation of nutrition interventions will be explained and examples given. Opportunities for RDN involvement with post-natal care and diabetes prevention will also be discussed.
