Your client has been diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, now what? It's time for them to embark on their journey to health. This module will provide RDNs with essential information for treating their clients with celiac disease and other gluten-related disorders, including: assessing their patients' health and nutrition status; creating personalized treatment plans that meet the individual's specific nutrition needs; and teaching them how to successfully navigate their food environment in order to adhere to a gluten-free lifestyle.

Learning Objectives

  1. Assess both the clinical, and sociological status of a client diagnosed with celiac disease, including macronutrient and micronutrient intake, symptoms, biochemical data; and accuracy of diagnosis, readiness for change and evaluation of quality of life/ social supports.
  2. Initiate evidence-based nutritional intervention(s) tailored to the client.
  3. Develop a personalized treatment plan for clients with celiac disease that meets their particular nutrition needs and lifestyle choices and equip clients with the tools they need to adhere to a life-long gluten-free lifestyle.

The Certificate of Training program consists of five separate modules that build on each other. To receive the certificate associated with this training, all modules and related tests must first be completed and a subsequent final post test exam after the final module must be passed with a minimum of an 80%. The Certificate of Training can then be downloaded and printed from the site.
