This module will focus on managing the gluten-free diet throughout all states of the lifecycle. Specific emphasis is placed on infants, children, early adulthood and the elderly. Management of the gluten-free diet during pregnancy and breastfeeding is also addressed.

Learning Objectives

  1. List the management concerns of the gluten-free diet in the pediatric population infant, children, the concerns celiac disease and puberty in teenagers, and the challenges of the gluten free on the college students.
  2. Describe specific nutritional needs during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and apply strategies for meeting those needs.
  3. Identify the nutritional consequences of the gluten-free diet unique to the elderly population.

The Certificate of Training program consists of five separate modules that build on each other. To receive the certificate associated with this training, all modules and related tests must first be completed and a subsequent final post test exam after the final module must be passed with a minimum of an 80%. The Certificate of Training can then be downloaded and printed from the site.
