Learn to enhance your malnutrition expertise through the use of case studies! Before and after images will be reviewed for each case study to demonstrate the use of Computed Tomography (CT) in monitoring and evaluation of the Nutrition Care Process. In this session, you will learn to interpret body composition through the use of CT scans. You will learn how to integrate CT assessment of muscle and fat changes into current practice using AND/ASPEN and Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) criteria. Through case studies, you will support the malnutrition diagnosis and nutrition focused physical exam using CT data. This session provides the basic overview of integrating technical tools into nutrition assessment.

- Identify gaps in RDN assessment of skeletal muscle and fat changes.
- Illustrate how to use CT as a tool to determine body composition and support the nutrition focused physical exam.
- Demonstrate real world use of CT to visualize muscle and fat changes through a curated case study series.
