Speaker - Module: Micronutrient Deficiency Identification and Treatment

Lauren Probstfeld is a seasoned registered dietitian with many years of experience as a nutrition support clinician across various acute care settings. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition degree from Texas A&M University and furthered her education by earning a Masters of Nutrition degree from Texas Woman's University. Presently, Lauren holds the position of Clinical Nutrition Manager at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX, overseeing nutritional care initiatives and programs. Previously, Lauren dedicated multiple years as the facility's medical ICU dietitian, contributing significantly to patient care within the intensive care unit. Despite her current role, she remains an active member of her facility's nutrition support team, further showcasing her commitment to nutritional care of complex patients. On a professional level, Lauren has been actively involved in volunteer roles, notably serving as the Past Chair of Dietitians in Nutrition Support in 2024.

Speaker - Module: Fluid and Electrolyte Dosing in Parenteral Nutrition

Jessica is a registered dietitian and certified nutrition support clinician with more than 20 years of experience with parenteral nutrition in a variety of settings including adult, pediatric, and NICU, from critical care to the clinic. Throughout her career, Jessica has been dedicated to increasing access to parenteral nutrition order writing education and has developed numerous programs, presentations, and publications through ASPEN, The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and other clinician societies. She is a past President of the Colorado chapter of ASPEN, past Chair of the ASPEN Education and Professional Development committee, and member of the ASPEN Patient Safety committee. In 2024, Jessica was honored to receive recognition as an ASPEN Fellow. She continues to focus on patient safety, education, and identifying opportunities to reduce the gap between society guidelines and therapy delivery. As a content developer for this program, Jessica has provided independent knowledge and does not represent or speak on behalf of her employer.

Lisa is an intestinal rehabilitation and transplantation adult clinician for nearly 20 years at the Cleveland clinic. Throughout her 25 years as a registered dietitian, she has participated in training dietetic interns, medical students and GI fellows on nutrition assessment and the Nutrition Focused Physical Exam. She is an active member of the DIGID- Short bowel syndrome work group via the Academy in Dietetics and Nutrition and has published various research and peer reviewed publications on intestinal rehabilitation and transplantation. Most recently, she is a contributing editor for a revision of The clinicians pocket guide to the nutritional management of intestinal rehabilitation and transplantation for adults and pediatrics.

Dr. Russell a staff Gastroenterologist at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio where she sees patients with small bowel disorders, short bowel syndrome, and malnutrition requiring nutritional support. She obtained her medical and Internal Medicine training at University of Alberta where she also obtained a Masters of Science in Translational Medicine. She then conducted her Gastroenterology and Nutrition training at McMaster University. Her research interests include applying objective data with nutritional assessments and patient outcomes with Short bowel syndrome.
