Author
Colleen Dawkins is a dual-credentialed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, specializing in obesity and cardiometabolic health through her telemedicine private practice. She is a Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management and holds a Certification of Advanced Education in Obesity Medicine through the Obesity Medicine Association. Colleen is a full-time Instructional Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Hospitality Management at the University of Mississippi.
A recognized leader in the field, Colleen currently chairs the advisory board for the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s Obesity Certificate of Training program. She also serves on Obesity Medicine Association committees, contributes as an associate editor and peer reviewer for Obesity Pillars, co-chairs the Obesity Management Foundations Program for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and serves as treasurer for the Washington Obesity Society.
In addition to her clinical and professional leadership, Colleen is pursuing a PhD in Nursing Leadership at the University of Southern Mississippi, where her research and academic work focus on advancing interprofessional approaches to obesity care and healthcare education.

Alysha Izoco, RDN, LDN, CSOWM, specializes in the clinical application of obesity medicine and chronic disease management. With dual degrees in biopsychology and dietetics, she bridges the critical gap between metabolic health and the psychology of behavior change.
Alysha brings over a decade of experience to the field; currently a Lead Registered Dietitian at Form Health, she has dedicated her career to refining patient adherence and long-term health outcomes. A board-certified specialist and featured speaker at the 2025 World Obesity Congress, Alysha is committed to integrating the latest evidence-based standards into clinical practice and professional education.

Liz Marshall is an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner with advanced training and certifications in obesity and weight management, bariatric care, intuitive eating, and mind-body medicine. She is deeply passionate about promoting health and wellness and supporting the prevention and management of chronic disease through lifestyle-based approaches.
With a strong emphasis on sustainable behavioral change, Liz partners with patients to help them identify meaningful, achievable goals and build long-term habits that support overall health and well-being. Her care philosophy is grounded in compassion, evidence-based practice, and respect for each individual’s unique health journey.
Outside of clinical practice, Liz enjoys long-distance running, boxing rock climbing, weight lifting, yoga, hiking, and spending time with her family.

Erin Thompson MPH, RD, CSOWM, LD, CDCES is a Registered Dietitian with over 25 years of experience counseling a variety of populations as well as precepting dietetic interns.
Over the course of her career Erin has been a Certified Diabetes Educator, a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician, Board Certified in Obesity and Weight Management and a Wellcoaches® Certified Health and Well-being Coach.
She was a recognized Future Woman Leader at the Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, Ill., where she served as the MOVE! Weight Management Coordinator from 2010-2016. Erin has worked in bariatric surgery exclusively for 10+ years. She currently works as the Outpatient Bariatric Surgery Dietitian at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic in Tyler, Texas.
Erin has presented at state and national conferences and has presented webinar lectures through the Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group (WMDPG) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). She currently serves on two ASMBS committees. In addition to her work in dietetics, Erin has been a passionate group fitness instructor for 24 years.
