Details

Global disruption caused by the COVID pandemic resulted not only in loss of life but also in transformational innovations and opportunities in healthcare, including interdisciplinary approaches of nutritional care and access. The Global TeleNutrition Consortium (GTNC), a voluntary, non-funded group of dietitians and physicians was initiated in response to the accelerated need for delivery of healthcare when patient and provider are physically distant. The GTNC is investigating the perspectives and activities of dietitians regarding the use of telenutrition in clinical practice through 2 international surveys addressing how the pandemic has changed interdisciplinary nutrition care and evolution of the nutrition focused physical examination. Session will review telenutrition literature and current state of the art; how telenutrition will help set new quality standards; and define practical strategies and tactics that can be applied to help implement telenutrition into local clinical practices.
